Surgeon Tells the Formula for Face Perfection

Surgeon Tells the Formula for Face Perfection | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

A world-renowned cosmetic surgeon says he has discovered the mathematical formula for beauty, urging Melbourne colleagues to stop giving patients "pillow" faces.

Speaking at a gathering of cosmetic surgeons in Melbourne, Canadian plastic surgeon Dr Arthur Swift said he was on a mission to eradicate overdone cosmetic surgery after seeing too many patients distorted through large amounts of injectable fillers.

Top4's insight:

A Canadian plastic surgeon claims to have found a mathematical equation for a perfect face common in Hollywood stars when he visited Australia to speak at Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery's 2013 Cosmetex Symposium.

It's also mentioned that the amount of fillers to be injected shouldn't be too much as it caused sleepy face on many people. The practitioners should know the limit and how to educate the patients to get the right amount.

If you plan to have an injection on your face, you need to see trusted doctors/practitioners, to ensure the quality of the result and its safety. Injectable fillers are not cosmetic products you can buy on local drugstores, it takes expert concerns and that is why you should opt for professional beauty clinics. Reputable Australian cosmetic surgery centres can provide you with the right advice and recommendation for your need. Why I Won't Get A Botox

Why I Won't Get A Botox | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

This is what a pickup line sounds like in your 30s: "Wow, your skin is so nice," an old college acquaintance told me. "You don't have wrinkles like some of the other girls."

"Is this really what flirting has come to these days?" I thought, as I made my way from the bar back to my boyfriend. In my sorority years, a dude would tell me I had a great rack and nice shoes and buy me a shot. Now, at a wedding full of 30-somethings, a guy I haven't seen since college tells me I'm ageing well.

Sure, the compliment made my day — since, as a beauty editor, I put a tremendous amount of effort into my skincare upkeep. And I'm proud to say, there's no Botox involved. But as my Champagne buzz kicked in, I had a nagging feeling that there was more to the topic: Women are obsessed with youthful skin. Men are obsessed with youthful skin. Society is obsessed with youthful skin. And this fixation keeps starting younger and younger.

A Mother Spent £12k Home Saving on Cosmetic Surgery

A Mother Spent £12k Home Saving on Cosmetic Surgery | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

Suzanne Harvey's family thought she was saving up to buy her dream home.

But rather than put a roof over her loved ones’ heads, she blew £12,000 on a new body — and her family now live in a rented house.

Top4's insight:

A 45 year old Mum, Suzanne, spent her savings for dream house on cosmetic procedures to transform her to a size 12. In this age of aging, body skin is not as flexible and moist as previous years behind. She decided to take the procedures to gain more happiness on herself.

You can also gain your own happiness by improving your current look. If you need to remove your body fat or fix your body appearance, it's recommended to visit reputable clinics and have the procedures done by legitimate professionals such as Eden Institute. Signs if You Had Too much Botox

Signs if You Had Too much Botox | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

A shiny forehead and a smile that doesn't reach the eyes? Step away from the needle. The point of view on appearance medicine would be that it's a wonderful tool, but you've got to keep your feet on the ground.

Dr. Sarah Hart says Botox is all about "the right amount, in the right places."

"I guess the word would be 'undetectable.' Often people call it ageing gracefully... You just don't want to look sad or angry." Hart says the goal should be to look "balanced,  refreshed, and more beautiful, rather than trying to look younger."

Top4's insight:

Having cosmetic injection at the clinics is now a common thing to do among women. But to have it in the right amount and in the right spots is another thing.

Some people prefer to have it done more frequently than it's suggested or the amount of the substance injected is more than you need. This could affect the result and how your face look in general.

It's important to keep the cosmetic procedure in the right amount. It's also possible to use dermal fillers, but you need professional doctors to have it injected to your skin.

It is always recommended to have the treatment done by a qualified cosmetic surgeon. Never compromise on safety. Choose reputable clinics with professional doctors such as Eden Institute, check out their listing here http://www.top4.com.au/business/eden-institute-of-plastic-cosmetic-surgery-65217

On-Demand Botox: Cosmetic Procedure in Your Home

On-Demand Botox: Cosmetic Procedure in Your Home | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

In-home beauty services are on the rise: With just a few taps on your smartphone, you can get blowouts, manis, makeup, heck, even facials and massages, right in your living room. Everything is "the Uber of" something. So perhaps it was inevitable that the most popular nonsurgical cosmetic treatment of all time—yes, Botox—would become an app-enabled beauty treatment. That innovation is now a reality, thanks to Boomer, a brand-new Botox-on-demand service.

Top4's insight:

Everything can be ordered online these days, including beauty treatment. Lately, in-home beauty services are getting popular as people can have their beauty treatment done without leaving their house.

Botox is one of those services offered online and you can have it done at home. But some experts criticized the safety of the cosmetic procedure held at home. Practitioners in reputable cosmetic clinics certainly have official licence to inject the substance into your skin and the environment is sterilized for the patients to have any cosmetic procedure done.

Cosmetic Surgery for the Over 55s

Cosmetic Surgery for the Over 55s | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

Earlier this month, it was revealed the over 50s are taking advantage of new pension freedoms, spending their cash on things such as a sit-on lawnmower, a trumpet, a Winnebago for travelling around the UK, and "an expensive telescope for gazing at the heavens."

Additionally, research from The Independent Pensions Advisory Service (TPAS) found pensioners have been informing their advisers they would like to spend the money on cosmetic surgery such as breast enlargement, face lifts, and dental implants.

Top4's insight:

Cosmetic surgery apparently is not limited to mid-age people. More people are considering to go under the knife for various reasons.

For older people, over 55s specifically, it's likely to have facial rejuvenation procedure in order to gain their youth once more, instead of body correction. However, it doesn't mean there aren't any, some old patients may have breast augmentation. They have it not for enlargement, but for a lift so they look a little younger.

Botox: Acne-Cure Alternative

Botox: Acne-Cure Alternative | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

It's really no secret that some older people can be pretty passionate about their Botox. And the fact that even people who don't have wrinkles know what "Botox" is only proves its omnipresence in our perfection-obsessed society.

Botox is not only the #1 noninvasive cosmetic procedure with over 6.5 million* people receiving injections in 2014, but every few months a new discovery surfaces about how it can be used. There are around 20 ways to use this neurotoxin – some FDA approved and some “off label”.

From reducing sweaty pits and palms to helping with spasms, migraines, and leaky bladders, Botox has become a bit like the Swiss army knife of injectable procedures. So what about using it to combat acne – does it work?

Top4's insight:

Some doctors have used Botox as an injection to reduce sweat and it also affects the oil glands to produce less oil. Hence, you will see less oil and it may also means smaller looking pores.

This could be an alternative if you want to have less wrinkles and lines, plus acne-free skin.

Why it's ok to have a tummy tuck

Why it's ok to have a tummy tuck | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

"You're more of a three-month project," said my personal trainer, Matt Miller, as I waved a fitness magazine promising abs in six weeks. "You have loose skin. You used to be bigger, right?" Right: 21 stone in my late teens before dropping to 13 stone at university, fluctuating a bit and evening out to between 14 and 15 stone as I entered my thirties. "We can try, but you'll need to get to 15 per cent body fat maximum from your current 30. And no promises."

A weekly fitness protocol was designed - 40 minutes of fat-burning each morning, two hours of Matt's personal training and some cardio at 1Rebel gym, rotating between spinning and high-intensity interval training depending on whether I had my running shoes. A diet plan was also put into place: no carbs apart from brown rice and rye bread, no booze apart from a glass of red a week, protein-rich meat, lots of greens and fish-oil supplements to try and return some elasticity to my skin. I also had to surrender a robust smoking habit.

What does 2016 hold for the future of cosmetic surgery | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

Plastic surgery might have been around for 101 years, but 2016 is set to see the explosion of a whole new range of surgical and non-surgical treatments, including labia lipo and, gulp, vampire boob jobs.

The reasons behind our most recent quest for perfection are suitably modern, too. A report by the American Academy of Facial Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery claims one in three doctors have seen more demand for plastic surgery because social media has made patients more aware of their looks. Here’s the new wave of nip/tuck surgery coming our way.

Women find cosmetic surgery helps retain husbands’ interest

Women find cosmetic surgery helps retain husbands’ interest | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

The popularity of cosmetic surgery for women in the Kingdom has increased dramatically over the last few years.

This surgery acts as a form of assimilation and making women feel empowered since it represents an exclusionary beauty norm.

Confessing to the surgery, a Saudi woman, Sadia, said: “At 38 years of age, I have the face and body I deserve. Earlier, my upper arms were massive and fleshy, bearing no resemblance to the physique I had in my twenties. Cosmetic surgery helped in restoring my gym-honed figure and addressed the body confidence issues that were lost in me more so than exercise or therapy.”

Study Says Weight-Loss Surgery May Lengthen Older People's Lives | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

Middle-aged and even older people seem to gain a survival boost from gastric bypass surgery -- good news for obese older folks who may wonder if the weight-loss surgery is worth the risk, a new study suggests.

Top4's insight:

Therefore, it's important to solve your problem first before going under the knife. Set your priority: do you care more on how you feel about your body or to please others? You need to ensure that your decision is not an effort to satisfy other people. Happiness can only be created from within, taking the cosmetic procedure won't give you instant joy as it takes time and patience.

You are also recommended to consult the right treatment and procedure to professionals regarding your condition. My mastectomy made me more beautiful

My mastectomy made me more beautiful | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

"You can have a preventative mastectomy and end up looking maybe better than you did before.”

A woman gets breast cancer and loses her breast. That is much more serious – it’s a brutal operation and the breast, unlike the hair, will never come back. The woman feels miserable, but when she mentions this to friends, they say, “What are you talking about? You’re alive! Who cares if you have breasts or not? Don’t even worry about it.”

The thing is, though, some women do worry about it.

“There is this idea out there that a woman who survives breast cancer is just meant to feel grateful,” says Louise Turner, 43, a mother of two who had a double mastectomy in 2013.

'Tech Neck' Wrinkles and the Treatment

'Tech Neck' Wrinkles and the Treatment | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

In a world where we sometimes spend more time looking down at our cell phones than we spend looking at each other, it comes as no surprise that overuse of technical devices is causing us to age more rapidly. Case in point, the phenomenon known as tech neck—a condition caused by repetitively tilting your head downwards to look at your mobile device, therefore causing the delicate skin on your neck to wrinkle and show signs of aging more quickly than ever before. But never fear, there’s a fix waiting at your dermatologist’s office.

Modern days enable you to access everything easily through your mobile phone. Since people tend to check their phones every 5 minutes, it makes you tilting your head down more often. Hence it may cause wrinkles on your neck appear earlier.

But this can be prevented and treated with several cosmetic procedures done by professional practitioners. You can schedule a treatment with local cosmetic clinic in Australia when you see the sign of wrinkles on your neck.

Correct early signs of aging with dermal fillers

Correct early signs of aging with dermal fillers | Cosmetic Surgeons | Scoop.it

Facial aging is inevitable however, the specific time signs begin to occur and their severity are different for everyone. Genetics, lifestyle and environmental exposure all play a part in the process of facial aging. Early adaptation of daily use of high SPF UVA/UVB sunscreen and a targeted daily skin care routine can aid in prolonging some signs of aging. However, in general, thinning of skin, loss of collagen and bone density begin to occur in the mid to late 30’s causing loss of elasticity, sagging skin and wrinkles. In addition, studies that include facial scanning have revealed a number of different fat pads located within the face. In the mid to late 30’s lipoatrophy or facial wasting can begin to occur due to redistribution and/or loss of this diffuse facial fat creating hollowness and concavity of cheeks, temples and eye sockets. Loss of fat from the cheeks also becomes noticeable in the nasolabial folds which are also referred to as smile lines or marionette lines.
